UFC women’s flyweight competitor Paige VanZant is planning to test free agency after her fight against Amanda Ribas at UFC 251, which is the final fight of her current contract.
Injuries have started to build up for the once-promising fighter, and she has only fought in two bouts since 2016. She currently owns a record of 8-4 but is only 2-3 in her last 5 fights.
The 26-year-old fighter cited money as the biggest reason that she would be open to other career options, as she believes she could be making the same amount of money working a regular job that doesn’t take such a toll on her body.
VanZant is not alone in her views, as she is just the most recent fighter on the growing list that believe they are undervalued by the UFC.
Do you think VanZant will eventually get a contract that has the monetary reward and recognition that she is looking for, or do you think her fight on Saturday night will be her last with the company?
