Payment issues between employers and employees are nothing new, and are largely seen as a nonissue by employers due to their position over their employees. However, issues may occasionally arise, especially when that employee stands at 6-foot-4-inches and weighs 205 pounds.
Even more issues may arise when that disgruntled employee is also one of the biggest headliners in the company’s history, as is the with Jon ‘Bones’ Jones.
Jones, who is the current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, took to Twitter to voice his displeasure with UFC President Dana White in a series of tweets last week.
In these tweets, Jones says that he has been underpaid his entire career and is now asking for the money that he feels he rightfully deserves. Jones even goes as far as saying that White is “stubborn and greedy”, citing the that UFC continues to set all time records in sales yet fighters often go underpaid.
The disgruntled Jones also implied that he would like White to release him from his contract that he signed last year, although it seems highly unlikely as he still has at least seven fights left on the deal.
This is not the first time that the superstar has made it known that he feels slighted by the UFC, as this issue has been building up over the course of his career.
While the two men battle one another for control, the question that is begging to be answered is who do you think will come out victorious? Share your thoughts in the comment section below!
