While a potential George St. Pierre comeback is seemingly always a topic of speculation, it will not happen with a matchup against Kamaru Usman, as many have hoped.
Usman added fuel to this fire when he called out St. Pierre after his impressive victory against Jorge Masvidal at UFC 251 on June 11.
The 39-year-old veteran, who sports an imposing record of 26-2 over his professional fighting career, is undoubtedly one of the greatest competitors to ever step foot in the Octagon. The fact that he is still being spoken about as the ideal candidate for one of the top names in the industry even though he hasn’t fought since just goes to show how truly special he is.
Nevertheless, St. Pierre does not seem to be swayed by the rumors, as he has grown into his life post-retirement.
"I'm very fortunate,” said St. Pierre. “I'm healthy most importantly and I'm also wealthy. I came out at the right time, I made a lot of money and I think the problems are when I matured and calculated the pros and cons, it's better that I stay retired."
While it seems as though he has made up his mind, the matchup between the two UFC legends is a fun topic of conversation.
Who do you think would win if the super-fight did happen?
