Last Saturday, UFC legend Anderson Silva entered the Octagon for what was advertised as the final time of his career.
The former champ has amounted a 34-11 record during his pro MMA career and has spent the last 14 years in the UFC. During that time, he was the on and off Middleweight champion for nearly five years.
It is clear that Silva’s legacy has been built on respect, competition, and honor. A few weeks before his fight against Uriah Hall, he announced that this would be his final fight. However, a couple of days before he was set to enter the Octagon, he hinted at a possible return to the sport.
After Silva lost his bout to Hall, UFC President Dana White came out and said that Silva will not fight in the UFC again despite having one more fight on his current contract.
“I made a big mistake and I shouldn’t have let him fight this fight tonight,” White said in the post-fight press conference. “He’s a legend of this sport and he’s a legend of this company, and I did something I disagreed with. I knew I was right, and tonight proved I was right, and Anderson Silva should never fight again."
This makes fight fans wonder if we will ever see Silva fight again. Will White have a change of heart? Will Bellator MMA scoop up Silva? Let us know!
