On Monday, multiple reports stated that former UFC fighter and Strikeforce champion Nick Diaz will be making an MMA comeback in 2021.
Diaz kicked off his professional career in 2001 and remained active in the sport until 2013. Now, there are talks of him coming back in 2021, according to ESPN’s Ariel Helwani.
Along with his brother, Nate, the pair have been fan favorites for many years. Now, the older brother wants to get back into the Octagon.
“He weighs in the 175-165 range, per his manager Kevin Mubenga,” Helwani said in a tweet. “He just completed a 14-week diet and training regimen. This is the first time he cuts weight in approximately four years, Mubenga said.”
Mubenga also said that Diaz is “100 percent” planning on fighting next year.
Since this information has come to light, UFC contenders Leon Edward sand Darren Till have called out Diaz about a potential matchup in early 2021.
Do you think his comeback will actually come to fruition, or do you think this is simply a wave in the news cycle and we will all forget about it in a few months? Let us know!
