The brooding between Clarissa “T-Rex” Shields and Laila Ali is currently at an all-time high. Shields, who has been trying to lure Ali out of retirement for months, recently went so far as to question Ali’s dedication to the sport.

Clarissa Sheilds recently went on the popular radio show Breakfast Club Power 105.1 FM to talk about their tumultuous relationship.
“I never disrespected Leila Ali until it comes to her boxing,” Shields said. “Even though I will call myself the greatest women of all time, I’ve never said Laila Ali cannot box.”
Leila Ali also has nothing nice to say about Shields, whom she claims she can beat handily.
“One thing Clarrisa needs to understand it isn’t always about her,” Ali said. “I don’t care who [my opponent] is because I’m gonna win regardless. I’m gonna knock you out, so for me it really comes down to me being in shape.” She also criticized the fact that many consider Shields to be the greatest female fighter of all time.

Sheilds will reportedly not take less than a 50-50 split in terms of payout for the fight. This is one of the significant things that are holding up the scheduling of the bout at the moment.
While neither of them would like to admit it, they both share mutual respect for one another.
“I want her to actually embrace me,” said Shields. “I will embrace her and we will build women’s boxing to the place where it is supposed to be.” Ali also says that Shields is an inspiring fighter because of her ability to light a fire in her opponent.
