Heavyweight Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal def. Joe “The Doctor” Vedepo TKO (punches) 3 0:39
Entrances were epic for both competitors complete with sexy nurses accompanying Vedeopo decked out in scrubs.
Lawal dominated Vedepo on the feet and on the ground, he looked much bigger against the natural middleweight Vedepo
Vedepo showed his toughness to put away and lasted two rounds against being dominated by King Mo the whole fight.
Lawal gets his second win in a row since his loss to Rampage, he looks to take on all comers.
Vedepo takes a very tough loss outside his division but still has three wins in a row at middleweight.
Catchweight (143 lbs) Mike Richman def. Nam Phan TKO (punches) 1 0:46 Light
Richman gets his second win in a row by either KO/TKO. Didn’t let Phan get out of the gate and caught him!
Afte the fight Richman had words with Bellator Featherweight Champ Joe Warren, it looked staged as much of what Bellator is doing recently.
Phan suffers his first defeat in three fights in his Bellator debut.
Middleweight Joe Schilling def. Melvin Manhoef KO (punch) 2 0:32
Amazing battle between two of the best pure strikers in the sport today, two former Kickboxing champions going at it in a cage!
Unbelievable this fight went to a 2nd round! Manhoef connected often and early to get Schilling respect, Joe kept coming though.
Manhoef connected with a takedown early but Schilling was able to hold on and get the ref to stand it up fortunately.
Early 2nd round Schilling connected on the chin with a dangeroud right and left combo one of the most brutal KO’s as Manhoef was out before he hit the mat! Schilling gets only his 2nd MMA win.
Lightweight Title “Ill” Will Brooks (ic) def. Michael Chandler TKO (punches) 4 3:48
A rematch from last May when Brooks took the fight for the Interim Lightweight only 2 weeks notice when Alvarez dropped out.
Just like the first fight Brooks showed dominance throughout with striking and wrestling, Chandler looked out of his element throughout.
In the 4th round a bloody and battered Michael Chandler sprawled out a takedown by Brooks, on their way up Brooks connected with a right hook and Chandler put his hands up backing away, wierd
Brooks followed him up on the cage with a flurry as Chandler turned his back to him and the ref called the stoppage.
Chandler protested but didn’t know what just happened. This was Brooks most dominant fight he’s now 15-1 and Lightweight Champ.
Light Heavyweight “The Huntington Beach Badboy” Tito Ortiz def. “The American Psycho” Stephan Bonnar Decision (split) (30-27, 28-29, 30-27) 3 5:00[a]
After a dramatic entrance Flag Man Ortiz after a early takedown continued to outstrike Bonnar
Bonnar looked horrible after 2 year layoff, he said it was a bad idea to come back. The former TUF 1vet looked slow and lethargic
Ortiz didn’t look like a world beater and ate many punches of Bonnar who started gassing early in the second round.
Ortiz squirted water on Bonnar’s back after he fell down hearing the result, this could’ve been staged with what Bellator been doing.
Ortiz was fined 1,500 by the CASC for a classless move wouldn’t move past the beef with Bonnar. He gets his second win in Bellator.
