Source:MMA Mania

Bellator 262 returns on Friday July 16, 2021 at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut.

Bellator 260 was the first time that fans were welcomed back after fans spent nearly a year watching pre-recorded fights from home due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Bellator 262 will continue the in-person trend set forth by 260, and fans are in for a show this time around.

Tyrell Fortune will take on Matt Mitroine on the main card while Johnny Soto and Adil Benjilany highlight the undercard.

The main event features challenger Denise Kieholtz going up against the reigning Flyweight Champion, Juliana Velasquez.

Denise Kieholtz is coming into the bout after winning her last four fights. Kieholtz boasts an extensive career in kickboxing and has won three of her matches via submission. Kieholtz is 6-2 in her career.

Velasquez is coming into the bout after claiming the flyweight title after winning it through unanimous decision. Velasquez is 11-0 in her career.

Velasques is entering new territory with her first title defense. However, she has the confidence and the skill set to defend that title. She has faced some of the premier names in Bellator and will look to add another name to that list in her undefeated run.

Kieholtz will try and get the upper hand in this match through her kickboxing expertise. Kieholtz holds a 47-3 career record in kickboxing in addition to a black belt in Judo, the same belt as Velasquez. She holds the qualifications to compete for the title but her lack of comparable experience be her undoing.

Bellator 262 has the makings to be a night to remember. With the biggest and brightest young MMA fighters on display, fans will look to pack seats.

Tune in on Showtime at 9 p.m. EST or 6 p.m. PST to witness the some of the best new talent Bellator has to offer.
