Caleb Plant vs Caleb Traux

The IBF super middleweight champion Caleb Plant (20-0-0) is set to defend his title against Caleb Truax (31-4-2) on Jan. 30 as the main card for Premier Boxing Champions on Fox.
The undefeated Plant has been electric since his professional IBF debut. In his first title fight Plant dominated the reigning champion José Uzcátegui (29-3-0), knocking him down twice resulting in a title win by unanimous decision. Plant then made his first two title defenses look easy.
In his first defense, he faced off with Mike Lee (21-1-0) who was also undefeated at the time. Lee was barely a nuisance as Plant managed to dodge everything Lee sent his way while dominating the cocky boxer with powerful punches. Plant knocked Lee down several times before the referee called the match early in the third round. Plant’s second title defense wasn’t as quick but was just as domineering as he knocked out the then #3 ranked super middleweight contender, Vincent Feigenbutz (32-3-0).
Truax, Plant’s next opponent, is a former super middleweight champion himself. It is a title he held for only a few months as he beat then subsequently lost against James DeGale (25-3-1). Truax is no doubt hungry for this second chance at the title after getting such a brief taste beforehand. This could the last chance for the 37-year-old Truax as he is the #2 ranked IBF super middleweight contender but a loss could all but extinguish hopes for another opportunity.
