One of the 12 fights is the expected Co-Main Event between Walt “The Big Ticket” Harris (13-8-0) and Marcin “Tybur” Tybura (20-6-0). Harris currently ranks 8th in the heavyweight division while Tybura ranks 12th. Walt Harris hasn’t won since 2019 when he finished Oleinik
Worthy of his rank, each of Harris's 13 fight victories have come by KO. Of Tybura’s 20 wins he has only won 7 by KO, though he also has 6 wins by submission. In addition to this, Harris also has a shorter average fight time at 6 minutes and 39 seconds, compared to Tybura’s average time is nearly twice that with 12 minutes and 47 seconds. Despite Harris's efficiency in his fights, his general accuracy is lower than his competitors’. Harris's striking accuracy is significantly lower than Tybura’s at 38 percent. His grappling accuracy, at 29 percent, is almost half of Tybura’s striking accuracy at 50 percent. Tybura has been more reliant on grappling and submissions for his victories, despite attempting submissions less frequently than his current competitor (.09 vs .15).
Tybura may be 2 inches shorter than Harris, but he has the advantage of an inch longer reach and leg reach than Harris, with a reach of 78 inches and a leg reach of 46 inches. Along with these advantages, Tybura also is 2 years younger than the 37-year-old Harris. Though small increments, these small advantages could be Tybura’s ticket to winning this fight against Harris. Both fighters usually weigh in around the 255 pound mark, though in their previous fights respectively they were 1 pound apart in weight.
Though just averages, combining Harris’ lower average fight time with the fact that all his wins have been by KO could point to his potential win against Tybura, despite Tybura having more wins and a possible advantage over him. Comparing these stats shows this has the potential to be a closely contested UFC Heavyweight Fight,Will Walt Harris’ obtain first win in almost two year? Or will Tybura add on to his 4 fight win streak? Tune in Saturday on ESPN + to find out!
