On Wednesday, former UFC Strawweight contender Paige VanZant signed a fight contract with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship. 

 

After losing her last UFC bout in just the first round her 5-4 record in the UFC, it was clear that her next step would have to be free agency. BKFC was one of the promotions interested in bringing her on-board in addition to ONE Championship and Bellator MMA.

 

Other than fighting, VanZant is well known for being an Instagram model and appearing on “Dancing with the Stars” in 2016. 

 

VanZant told ESPN that this is an opportunity for her to prove that she isn’t just a model. 

 

“...I feel like I still have this stigma in MMA that I’m just a pretty face, and what a way to prove to people that’s not the way I see myself at all,” VanZant told ESPN. 

 

Although there is no set date for her BKFC debut, there is no doubt that the promotion will begin to market their new talent soon.
